Looking For a low prep activity that will hold your toddler’s attention for days?
Look no further! How about trying this simple low prep pom pom push Christmas bulb colour sorting activity that requires only a few materials to recreate?

I absolutely love this activity because it takes minimal time to recreate, and in no time, your littles can be engaged in a fun learning and hands-on activity that provides them with so many educational benefits.

What you need to recreate this activity:

  • A box or empty container with a lid.
  • Pencil
  • Markers/ Paint
  • Pom Poms
  • Stencil Knife

How to put this activity together:

Step 1: Collect the box you will be using and draw the shape of the Christmas bulb onto it. (This step is optional.)
Step 2: Draw circles onto the bulb to represent the colours you want your little one to sort. Draw a smaller circle inside and colour the space between the two circles with the colours of your choice.
Step 3: Use a stencil knife to cut out all the inner circles, and the base for your activity is complete.

Provide your little one with a container with all the different coloured pom-poms for them to sort.
You can allow your little one to use their hands to sort the pom-poms or provide a tong for them to use.

This Activity is also useful for:
