Apple Facts book for Children

In the classroom, I enjoyed teaching writing! Children have such creative minds, and I just love helping them by equipping them with the skills they need to express themselves on paper.

Now that my girls are at the age that they are beginning to write and love it, I am just so ecstatic! I have been intentionally providing them with the necessary tools to practice their writing skills and enhance their communication skills. I will document their progress as they continue learning Step By Step!

We started the school year with the theme All About Apples. So I created a simple apple-themed journal activity for them in their journals and realized that if I were still in the classroom, my students would also enjoy doing this activity. Also, having apple books for all the children in a classroom would make such a beautiful display! So here I am sharing!

They started off their apple journaling with simple prompts because they are still very young, and I wanted them to have fun.

I drew a tree and wrote the colour words for them to colour according to the words and also wrote for them to draw four apples on their trees and under their trees.

I then wrote three simple sentences for them to draw apples and colour.

  • Apples are red.
  • Apples are Green.
  • Apples are yellow.

They were having so much fun reading and drawing that I then decided to write the following sentences.

  • Apples have Skin.
  • Apples have stems.
  • Apples have leaves.
  • apples have seeds

The above sentences gave us the opportunity to review the parts of an apple.

I then decided to write the sentences on an actual apple for them to complete, and that’s how I ended up with an apple book!

Our beautiful Apple Book is great for:
