Looking for a simple fall-themed activity to teach or review the letters of the alphabet with your preschoolers or with your little ones at home?
Well! Here is a simple journal activity you can prepare to do just that.
This activity is so simple and what I love most about it is the fact that it is low prep.
This activity was prepared in under twenty minutes.
Materials you will need to recreate this activity:
- Paper to draw your tree on. We used our learning journals.
- Markers
- Pencil
- Water bottle cap
- Red, yellow and green stickers. ( If you do not have stickers, you can use construction paper to cut out circles the size of your bottle cap and use glue sticks to attach them.)
How to prepare this simple journal activity:
Step 1: Use your bottle cap to draw 26 circles onto your paper.
Step 2: Use your pencil to draw a trunk for your tree. You can also add grass for decoration.
Step 3: Use a black marker to outline the images on your page.
Step 4: colour the tree trunk brown and use your brown marker to connect the circles with strokes so that they look like branches. Also, use your green marker to colour the grass.
Step 5: Use a marker to write the 26 uppercase letters into the circles.
Step 6: Use a marker to write the lowercase letters onto the stickers.
After following all the simple steps above, your alphabet matching activity is ready for your little one to complete.
This activity can also be used for teaching/reviewing:
- Shapes
- Colours
- Words
- Numbers
